Please give me a quick hand in answering this question! I need someones answer ASAP!! I understand the answer is 4.8 but am having trouble showing the work and proving this on paper.

I have:
16z-9 90-4z+3
16z-9+4z=90-4z+3+4z
20z-9=90+3
20z-9=93
20z-9+9=93+9
20z=102
20z/20z=102/20
z=5.1

WRONG!! HELP!! What am I missing>>?

ALL BETTER NOW!! Thanks to all of you. It was my fault, when checking the answer, I was screwing up!

The 5.1 is the answer I was looking for, but talked myself into looking for the 4.8 because that was my first GUESS!!

Sincerely, Sean

P.S. Take Care!

16z-9=90-4z+3

16z=102-4z Move the -9 to the other side of the = (change its sign) and combine the integers

20z=102 move the -4z to the other side of the z (again, change its sign) and combine the like terms

z=102/20, or 5 2/20, or 5 1/10, or 5.1

Oh, your 2nd to last line is screwy. You don't divide 20z by 20z. You divide 20z by 20 to isolate z. See, that's what you did on the other side of the =
--

16(5.1) - 9 = 90 - 4(5.1) + 3

16(5.1) = 102 - 20.4

81.6 = 81.6

Are you sure the problem is not:
16z-9=90-(4z+3)
In this case 20z=96 and z=4.8

Unless you mistyped the problem, the answer should be 5.1

I'm pretty sure your answer is correct, but your teacher or whoever might want it in fractions... z=51/10 is wat i got...
