Though I wish I could say your viewpoint is true it's not. What your basing your opinion on is purely marketing just like in the straight world. If gays watched a beer commercial we'd think all straight women had huge breasts, blonde hair, dressed slutty and worshipped men with two day old facial hair, beer belly's covered in flannel shirts who sat in recliners all day watchin' the "game."
Just like in straight media gay people are stereotyped because it sells. We all know sex sells and being that all men are more visually aroused companies have picked up on this and so when they try to sell something to the gay's out there they use men with ripped bodies barely covered in a stritch of clothing to do it.
The real gay man is just like the real straight man. He can be a gorgeous specimen like say Brad Pitt or he could look like Jack Black. What the media and marketing machine portray's is just a fabrication.
I do believe more gay men then straight men pay more attention to what they look like because they know that other gay men are again attracted at least to start off with by looks so they want to look as good as possible. It doesn't apply to all gay men though (I know many who don't give a damn about what they look like) and the same applies to straight men as well.

It's not that most of them are hot, it's just that a lot more of 'em are out there than one thinks.
Plus the fact that a lot of gay guys seem to have that femine side that might incline them to be more groomed than a lot of other guys.

It's a fallacy. Gays tend to take better care of their appearance, is all. They aren't all or mostly Hot - or, at least, no more than scrubbed up straight guys.

Many gay guys are extremely attractive men.
Maybe you are also attracted to the fact that they are saying to the world fuc* you I'll do what I want.
Or maybe it is there feminine flirty side.
There are lots of reasons why you find gay guys hot.
But in truth only you really know what those reasons are.

Because the ugly ones don't advertise that they are gay
you should go to a gay bar you might change your mind
maybe you only notice a guy if hes hot

as with most people in minority groups, we have to work harder to meet the status quo. We often have an underlying shame that may have been instilled by society, our relationship with our parents, church, etc, and feel the need to overcompensate for any minor flaw.

Because they care a lot more about their appearance, whether through caring about the tone of their muscles or pretty much everything else (aka skin, hair, etc.), depending on if they are butch or femme.

i have no idea but i do wish there wer more butch girls that are over 5'7 for pete sake i cant stand the short ones anymore they come with too much drama.
