I never had a credit before. Cingular does not want to give me a phone. What to do?

Keep trying other companies. I had the same issue- you will probably have to leave a large deposit that will be returned after 1 year of service.

I am with Verizon, and I've had my issues with them, but it works. In the meantime, START establishing some credit.

well you have to have at least a credit card to get a phone under

your name. your best bet will be to get someone to get you a line

under their name, sign a one year contract, then make sure you

get one of those 500 dollar limit beginner credit cards so that by

the time the contract expires you'll have established some credit

history and then you'll be able to get a phone under you own

name.

no offense but prepaid phones are better because you dont have to pay payments every month and you can get money put back on your phone whenever you want so i would choose to get a prepaid phone
