Unless you've been to cosmotology school...don't try and give yourself a hair cut...if you can't pay for one, get a friend to help you....(you do less damage to yourself if you don't try something you aren't trained for...)

Like you're trying to do, I cut my own hair. And I can tell you, the back is going to be a bear to cut straight no matter what. But a couple of good mirrors will help you see what's going on.

You might want to get a pair of barber shears as well as the electric clippers: That will make it easier for you to snip off any little tags. Unless your ears are visibly uneven, you should be able to use them as a gauge to see where you need to trim. Also, use a comb a lot. It will help you straighten your hair as you cut.

Good luck!

Mirrors and practice! You will not get it right the 1st couple of times. Read the instructions on the clippers to know how to adjust the lengths

Put some aloe vera on your hair while u are cutting it, pull the hair up by sections and clip across straight, then lift another section, try to even it out by checkin it out by combing it all straight down toward face.
