Don't suggest a Tippmann 98 or A-5, I don't want to spend over $100 on a kit including a mask, CO2 tank, and the actual gun. I know I won't get top of the line but I just want to have fun in the woods. I also don't want to shoot 900 paintballs a second I just shoot a couple of rounds when I have a shot. I'm looking for a semi-auto gun and was interested in the 32 Degress Icon-X Kit from Wal-Mart's website until everyone said 32 Degrees sucks. I need more detail because I'm sure it sucks to enthousiasts but I play with others who don't know brands either so I'm not in this for show. Please let me know a good gun kit in this price range that won't break for no reason. Thanks.

i would agree that the tippman is a very good gun but i don't think you'll find a package for under $100. spyder makes respectable markers as well. since you're not looking for anything glamorous i would really suggest getting this package

82 people reviewed the spyder sonix as a 9.1/10

it's a very basic simple gun. it's easy to take apart and clean and it's a good step into getting into paintball. lol it doesn't break the bank either.

the Kingman JAVA V-Type Goggles are subpar though because any lower end goggles will fog pretty easily. you can't avoid this. it's just the way it is. your best bet is to buy some anti-fog spray and you should be good to go.

so the spyder is a well known marker and easily fixed even if it breaks down. parts are easy to come by. the goggles are an easy fix.

also, 32 degrees isn't the best. but the icon x is pretty similar to the spyders...at least i think so. i don't think there's anything wrong with getting it. i shot a 32 degrees rebel xtreme for years before i got heavily into paintball. i can't imagine the icon being any worse then that. so i'll leave you that link as well

this site is really reliable. a lot of paintballers use it so don't worry about getting ripped or nothing like that. save a few bucks too

good luck man

You can get a used Tippmann 98 for $50ish. A good mask (most important part of paintball) will run you $50-100 new. You want it to be thermal. With a Tippmann 98 you can live off of CO2 and get a used tank for $20 or less. You can also jump straight to High Pressure Air (HPA) or Nitrogen (N2) and those tanks used will run you around $100 for a 4500 PSI tank.
