there is no such thing as a "virus free" program
when downloading from the internet you're always going to be at risk of downloading a virus
it's good practice to scan your files with your virus program after each download before opening / playing the file(s)
limewire usually pops a window up if it detects a corrupt file and this window asks if you want to continue the download (which of course you are suppose to click on - no - then go in to the Incomplete folder - which is usually in the My Documents folder - and delete the file that was corrupt - then right click on the Recycle bin icon on the desktop and click Empty Recycle bin)

also be leary of files you download especially if you notice the same names and file size shows up in each search you do
example - 01 Track 01 - wma - 1809 kb
you'll notice that similar file up to 07 or 09
and also watch out for
Eighties classic
Rare recording
Wicked Remix - this track I know for certain is a virus - I made the mistake of downloading this file and luckily I ran it through my virus scan and it showed up as a virus

you can try WinMX -

but like I said - always do a virus scan on the files you download from the internet and always keep your virus scan program updated on a regular basis

You can't blame Limewire cause i find it awsome especially since it can now even download .torrents(BIT TORRENT FILES) faster then 360k/s all i know is your computer either has an unreliable virus protection program or it's not properly installed because whatever filesharing network you might be interested in they all share viruses just go to the following website and i promise you might actually learn something i sure have...http://computersguide.blogspot.com/2007/01/install-computers.html

Definitly download BitComet, from BitComet.com. Once you get that, you can download torrents from thousands of websites and it's virus free. You can also download ALL kinds of software ( virus protection and EVERYTHING else with key generators)
Also all movies and shows (even currently on air).
I love it, I used to have LimeWire but it gave me viruses to, so I got BitComet and it's ******* rox, lol.
Try it
;-)

Nothing of the Sort exists. I've had the same problem. Unless you want to pay for it, You can either step up your anti virus and firewall or just watch out for what you download
