Yes it sound like your screen has been damaged.

As far as replacement parts, it depends on your make and model. You will have to do the work and actually figure out the part number for the screen you need, but as far as buying a replacement, I have gotten some great deals from Ebay to fix a couble bad screens myself.

Also check out these web sites.

Well actually you have to contact the manufacturer. You didn't specify who makes the laptop nor did you specify the model. Anyway, the manufacturer can give you the part number for the screen. Yes they will pretty much ship anywhere if it is IBM, Lenovo, Dell, HP/Compaq, or Gateway. You should also ask them for a service manual as you will need to remove the keyboard and some other calbes. Screens are generally around $200-$700 U.S. dollars.

If you have a Thinkpad you can get the hardware maintenance manual from www.lenovo.com which will show you how to replace the screen.

I don't know the brand of computer you are using, but regardless, there is a ribbon cable that attaches the screen to the motherboard. It sounds like the cable might be loose. Laptops are tricky to disassemble, but if you're comfortable with fine assembly work, it's possible to do it yourself. You may want to check the website of the manufacturer, where there may be troubleshooting instructions.

The "stuck pixel" is likely dead, and can't be recovered.

Screens for laptops, if not covered by warranty, cost HUNDREDS of dollars. Unless it's some incredibly expensive desktop replacement, it's probably more cost efficient to get a new laptop than replace the screen out of your own pocket.

i could get a pc with a minimum of 2GB memory. no longer purely will it help Vista to run smoother, although this is going to coach you for destiny, greater memory in intensity courses. The 1GB memory you're talking of won't in any respect be laid low with how lots music you have on your difficult rigidity. those are 2 diverse issues. The 1GB memory is used to for courses that are working. I heavily do no longer advise working Vista... i'm no expert, yet there have been adequate lawsuits concerning the hot MS OS that i plan on staying faraway from it. i actually don;t comprehend lots approximately Toshiba... sorry. i will enable you comprehend that I purely offered a MAC and actually like it. evaluate a MAC... exceedingly if all you will do with it is detect a observe processor and surf the information superhighway. Apples are somewhat greater costly, yet actual very well worth the investment. solid success!

it depends, if your screen pixels run in rows horizintaly(wiring) then one of the fine wires came loose, you may have to sodder it back but i wouldent recomend doing it. it causes a line because those pixels have no information now so they go...white for some reason. but that should be your problem, but the answer...your on yuore own!

you better buy another laptop , replacing the screen is too expansive and, if you don't want to buy original from manufacturer you need to get one compatibile (probably used even though the seller says it's new)
