Absolutely! A) its your boat and the captain makes the rules, If I don't like it I can get off at the dock. B) Falling in deep water even for the best swimmer can cause panic, a life vest keeps you alive pure and simple.

Yes. In fact, I just went over PFDs in swimming class yesterday and made my students learn how to put on a life jacket, enter the water safely, and do the HELP and Huddle positions.

Yes I would, and this doesn't sound like fresh water boating , more
like deep sea fishing, then I would also take something for
sea sickness, any suggestions.
