He asked questions about details and wanted photos so could be serious buyer. We exchanged several emails over a few days. But I'm nervous due to the international nature because of all the frauds. He said he'd pay me this month, but not ship until next. I don't know how T/T's work and if they are safe for me. Am I being naive to even consider it?

He would arrange and pay for shipping. I would not be involved in the crating or shipping or payment of the shipping.

This is probably a scam...Usually they will send you a transfer, or certified cheque or something like that for more than the thing you are selling, they will tell you to deposit this money and send the difference to a certain company who will do the shipping.

you send your cheque to the "moving Company" and it is cashed right away...A few weeks later, the bank informs you the transfer or certified cheque that you deposited, has bounced and you owe the bank the money you wrote the cheque with and any of the orginal price that you have spent already.

So stay away from this deal, sell to someone you can see and can give you CASH

Derrr! Why would someone ship a jetski from the US to New Zealand.

Here is how the scam works.

Your "buyer" says that they have received a check for a value of more than you are asking.

Your "buyer" will ask if he can send you the check and you send him the difference.

You do this.

You hear from your bank that the check has bounced.

You never hear from the buyer again who now has your money.

you need to investigate more fine out how it is done and weather or not you want to continue I would gather that this potiecal buyer has purchase things using this manner ,my experience is to follow my gut feelings and if you don't feel comfortable then don't do it. it sounds like you both are worried about each other he wants proof of product and you want grantee payment no your not naive just cusious and theres nothing wrong with that.
