Art therapy is a great profession. It is one of the best ways to help children deal with their problems. Another way is working with puppets. Both these ways give a child the opportunity to express feelings; bad and good, without them feeling like they have hurt someone else. Children are very perceptive, they know if their actions are going to affect others and they are very protective.

Art therapy is a great resource, even for other who find it hard to communicate with authorities.

The problem will be funding. Therapies are being hit hard by budget cuts, changes in funding programs, and so forth.

Combine this with a lack of real standards when it comes to art therapy- it is difficult to distinguish it from recreational therapy- which is also hard to fund outside of nursing homes, etc.

Although I believe that art therapy has a lot to offer, I would be very surprised to see it really grow much.

no, psychology treatments tend to be fads that go away after a few years.

either make art the hobby that you enjoy after a long hard day of paying job, or go for design.
