I have this bad gut feeling that something bad is going to happen.... like some news from my boyfriend...either he's gonna be deployed sooner or something else.

Should i be worried? Or just let it go until something happens/if it does.

I'm sure your probably concerned for the new proposal for more troops in Iraq, and with good reason. Due to the number of troops being called for, there is a good chance he'll go, however, this possibility was always there since he joined, and so the best thing to do for such feelings is to become more prepared, i.e., make sure you have support from FRG (Family Readiness Group), and are receiving all the information you can as well as having things in order for such a time as a deployment. Taking positive control over aspects of your life that will make it easier for you when that time comes will make you feel better, because you'll have true confidence in yourself, and try to remain positive and supportive of your boyfriend as I'm sure he's a little nervous as well, even if he won't admit it. Taking control/care of the things you can, makes it easier to accept circumstances beyond your control.

If it were about a guy you were thinking of dating, yes. Gut feelings are very rarely wrong and you should go with them but this is different.

It's normal to have fears and suffer from anxiety when a person is worried about a loved one being deployed.

I think what your feeling is normal and to be expected. I would try to stop worrying. That's really not so much of a gut feeling as it is anxiety.

I don't think anyone would blame you for having these feelings.
Just try to put them in their proper perspective.

In answer to your question,if you should let it go and just wait and see if anything bad happens, is a good idea. Worrying never helped or solved anything.

Police advises people always to go with hunches because in many cases victims said they had them before something terrible happened.
Of course, that's true only sometimes. In studies women (and men) thought that they, women, were better at reading peoples emotions, but actually this was not true; women just thought they were better about this.
To some degree you can train this, if you're gifted. Learn to meditate and focus internally and pay a really disinterested attention to the signals. Eventually you can learn which ones mean more likely something and which ones are paranoia or other interference, like projection of something you've heard.
Just be calm, careful and prepared. - Whether you have hunches or not :).

Ok my man is in the services and you know what I don't worry about it. If he gets deployed there is nothing we can do, but wait till that time comes. Cherish the time you have with him while he is here in the states.

I was also in the army but got medically discharged due to Iraq in 2005. Gut feelings are right in some things but other things is just mind/matter. Your so worried you are creating these gut feelings.
Now in war you kind of have to rely on orders and gut feelings but thats different.

Hey Brown Eyed Girl. let me tell you a little story that happened to me over christmas. My boyfriend decided to stay up late so that was fine i told him to carry on and I was just going to go to sleep. So early hours of the morning I had these really bad dreams that he was cheating on me, I woke up in this huge sweat and decided to go look for him. oviously had a bad gut feeling. So anyway I went down to the jetty and found my boyfriend with my cousin, he was really drunk but only touched her bum, thank goodness. But It just shows that you have to sometimes go with yourGut feelings. I mean me being told in a dream. That kind of freaked me out. I dont want you to be freaked out. But just prepared for whatever you Gut is telling you. Hope this helps.

From personal experince yes.
From psychological research yes. (Did you know that about 75% of women in abusive relationships state that upon first meeting the guy they either had a bad feeling about him or flat out didnt like him at first)

sounds like anticipation to me, I wouldn't worry about it. Is there anything going on between you two other than his deployment? If not let it go. Enjoy your time together before he's gone. =o)
