You would need a laptop with video and audio out and if you dont have them, you could buy an av output device. I myself wouldnt waste the money becuase the pic is no where as good as what you will see on TV no matter what you buy.

This question is most effectivey answer if you can let us know:
1. What video/audio inputs does your TV have?
2. What video/audio outputs does your laptop have.
Solutions are many like the answers here show.
The newer LCD TVs comes with a VGA input that you just plug your laptop to using a VGA cable( mostly likely you need to buy one, check the connectors at both the TV and laptop to determine the plug type required on each end ).
One way is to get a VGA to video converter, a solution that is getting obsolete soon, so maybe the converter should be quite cheap now.

Use a cable to hook up from your laptop to the TV or DVD/VHS player. Check the port connector ends for proper type.

If your laptop has a video output port on the back, you just need a cable to connect from your laptop to the vcr/television. My laptop has a little plug thats yellow (RCA video out) that I can connect to my TV. Newever laptops often have s-video output jacks.

your going to need a VGA cable, usually all the laptops made from year 2000 and higher have a VGA port although your TV is going to need a VGA port as well, if it doesnt i dont think there is a way to hook it up

Most modern laptops have a black 7 pin/ 4 pin connector called the 'S-VIDEO' out. it looks like a P/S2 socket but is entirely different. you can switch between mode using shortcuts on the keyboard usually a rectangular box over one of the function keys. ypu maht have to use the "Function" key wit an Fn written it to activate this control. BTW it looks like this http://www.pasarlascanutas.com/conectar_pc_tv/s-video_a_scart_1_04.JPG
