I found a supplier of bars of soap that I can get for around 50 cents per bar I think i can sell them for around three bucks a piece. I was thinking of selling them at a mall kiosk. What do you think, good idea or not

First you have to find out how much rent you will have to pay at the mall, and for how long legally, (you might have to sign lease)
you will have to find all other expenses in selling.

You will have to find out about business licence and whether you will hire help and fill out a million gov't forms, Find out what hours you have to have your Kiosk in operation...You can't do it alone 9AM to 9PM 7 days a week

And have you seen the prices of soap in stores you are competing with??, Don't take the soap companies idea of selling price. How many bars of soap at a time will you have to buy up front, and do you have the money for all this now and to support yourself till you are profitable (a long time).

Their is more to it than this, but you get the idea
It's no peice of cake
