Should you tip a tattoo artist and if yes how much?

my tattoo will cost $120 Should I tip the artist?

I know that in some places $120 is alot of money but they are artist and they are putting a piece on you that you will carry for ever. Take it from a artist that has done tattoos in the past. If your idea or image is immaculate and you are happy, give back to them in tips because that lets them know you appreciate their work. For a tattoo costing $120.00, give them a $25.00 tip. trust me this tattoo artist may be the first and only one you go to for all your work.

You should definitely tip..Usually if you get friendly with the artist, they give you some discounts on future tattoos.

I would probably tip $40, depending on how large the tattoo is, or how extensive the work was, how long it takes, etc.

I tipped $20 on an $80 tattoo, but this guy spent a lot of time reworking my tat because I kept changing my mind. He was good, patient and very gentle...he deserved more and I would have given him more if I had had it.

At least $25 bucks. The bigger / more detailed the tattoo the more you tip! =o)

gees. If they do a great job. I would. but if it sucked..heck no. maybe 20 bucks. and go to someone you trust and get to know em first. have a look at their past work.

I'll give you a tip--tattoos are unattractive, in my opinion, and you may someday regret gettting them, when you grown out of this phase.
