I have a wide variety of friends and I enjoy that, but the main people I'm around are more "gothic" types because I like them better. Unfortunatly it's not excepted by my "black" friends and for the first time I have lunch with them both and my friend is a ***** towards my more "real" friends ( like calling them lame and being mean in general) . I don't enjoy being around this person now because she insulted my friends, how do I aviod being her friend anymore when I'll see her at lunch every other day ( in a nice way)? I need real answers that will benefit me. Also is it right to still consider life as a popularity contest now that I'm older, isn't it a little immature to not want to talk to someone because you think your better then them?

The secret to ANY relationship is honesty. Tell your friend the truth about your feelings. If she respects you, then she will understand. If not then she is not a person you want to associate with. She will either continue to talk to you or not. Your principles are the foundation of who you are. Be true to yourself and you will be happy.

Making our own choices is a sign o f maturity. The more we are ourselves, the more a few people will have something to blame us for. "You can't please all the people all the time" Abe LIncoln
