I heard it was cheaper and more efficient to build with concrete block. I also talked to someone about building a wood home and he said it would cost 75,500 to build that way. Just wondering if it will be cheaper. ~ Thanks! ~

If your talking about your normal 8x8x16" concrete blocks, no they are not very efficient in my opinion. You would end up filling them in with concrete anyway for strength. If you want to build that way and have good efficiency, go for the ICF blocks. These are Insulated Concrete Forms. They are made out of some type of styrofoam and go together kind of like blocks. Then you fill it in with concrete and you have an insulated concrete wall.

i recently priced about the same size home....less than 10K. it's hurricane safe in that it has a lot of re-bar and is concrete filled. oh, but that's just the shell. the interior would be another project altogether.
