I would say it a personal preference to each person what it mean. BUT, in 2005 PetSmart launched a new ad campaign to take the company from "Mart" to "Smart." So, I assume they are Pet Smart.
First link is my reference and the second link some of their fun stuff.

it's supposed to be that way. It makes people think and wonder. and it can go either way. People can say it how they want, and can think it is pets mart, or pet smart.

Calm down! You don't need to get so upset about something so trivial!
Maybe you need another pet? Would that be smart?

yeah that bugs me too. i think it makes more sense if it's a mart for the pets, cuz they can go inside.

i bypass to month-to-month B.B.A. conferences. Bouncy Balls nameless has truly helped me to work out that my Bouncy Balls dependancy truly is going returned to my babies. The conferences have truly helped me to open up.
