Thanks for being so understanding. I go to high school and I get tormented every single day, everywhere, anytime, no matter what I'm doing and who I'm talking to. Thanks for actually realizing what we do go through, because even though people know we are teased, they really don't know the extent of what goes on. People don't really know I'm gay, they just think it. I wonder what they would say if I actually fully came out. Wow... I wouldn't even want to think about it. Thanks alot..

I think what gets me through the day as far as Yahoo Answers goes is that for every homophobe that spouts out hate there are at least two dozen other people here who will stand up either for each other or themselves. It gives me a lot of faith in the concept that the enlightened outnumber the ignorant.
As far as where I live is concerned, I really don't get that much discrimination on a day to day basis. I wear pins that say "I Love My Gay Friends" and "Hate Is Not A Family Value" and most people don't blink let alone say anything. Any comments that people have made have always been positive. I am a little concerned as to who I tell as far as the fact that I volunteer for a GLBT centre is concerned, because I know if somebody says something negative, it's going to hurt a lot more since they're saying it to my face, unlike Y!A which isn't as intimate. But if this room is any indication of the tolerant outnumbering the hateful, I shouldn't worry too much.

Analisys is best undisputed, so meagerness is biased and seen with conflict, there is such dispute or struggle in society. Overcoming used to become strenght amidst smiles, it is now used as a term to eviction and dismay towards pain, so much suffering is averted to help and discern from extinction.
We are not all sinners, some are not as privileged as to see beyond that which makes us humans and let´s put it simply, supreme beings, we all are, at least when we want what we see.
Confrontating and meaning some does not make truth but change, so homosexuals do indeed see and perform their own attacks, those of people achieving grievance and vindiction where there could be more than words and perhaps some more sincerity, not just honesty as such.
Facing it, some are attacked no matter what, others attack or preserve this idea with no further attachment or compliance to facts, this is common ordeal, not torments.
People grow weary all over every time somebody used Shakespeare or Marlowe to despite and respect art and fashion.
I know my remarks are not deemed as truth, there shall be it nonetheless. Values are to exist, strenght is no need for these beautiful means to success. Peace of the lord is with you and your spirits.

Thank you for your honest and genuine thoughts.
Personally, I initially found it difficult to overcome the negative feedback that society doles out, but I found comfort in surrounding myself with other gays. That's probably why so many of us live in cities and amongst one another - it makes life a lot easier.

well, thanks for the prayers, but we don't all have "pain incurred in our souls." yes, we are the target of undeserved discrimination, but that's because bigots choose not to educate themselves and believe in lies, assumptions and generalizing stereotypes. how do I stand it? in my day to day life, I rarely deal with bigots (I see far more online...in these forums). I'm out to my family, friends and co-workers...and they love and accept me for who I am. and I have a wonderful partner who loves me.
I already know God is with me...He created and loves us all.
thanks for thinking of us, though....but you really need to pray for the hate-mongering bigots who troll around here. they are the ones in need of serious help.

Finally, a nice post with religious tones for gays without condemning them. As a heterosexual, even I get sick of seeing the non stop gay bashing. I agree with you, it is a sad truth.
Stop the hate people. It never did anyone any good.

Thanks for your kind thoughts.
For most of us our families don't hate us nor do our friends and our faith transcends the hatred of others.
And trust me we are not the only target for hatred left.
Just keep putting good energy out into the world.
It does more good than you may think.

When you are GLBT you usually develop the strength to deal with it all because you have to. It makes us tougher .
