Lowest Common Multiple
The smallest common multiple of two or more numbers is called the lowest common multiple (LCM).
E.g. Multiples of 8 are 8, 16, 24, 32, …
Multiples of 3 are 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 21, 24, …
That means if you multiply the two together you have one possibility. However, if both of them can be divided by the same number then you can reduce that number.
18)
2,4,6,8,10,12,14,16 -18,20,22,24,26,28.30
15, 30
so 30 is the LCM
20)
15,30,45,60,75,90,105
7,14,21,28,35,42,49- 56,63,70,77,84.91.98.105
so 105 is the LCM
21)
4,8,12
3,6,9,12
12 is LCM
Do you see the pattern. Just multiply the top number times 1, 2, 3, 4, etc. until you get a number that is the same as when you multiply the bottom by 1, 2, 3, 4, etc.
22)
6,12,18
9.18
18 is LCM
24)
4,8,12
6,12
12 is LCM
26)
6,12,18,24
8,16,24
24 is LCM
28)
3,6,9,12,15,18- 21,24,27,30,33
11,22,33
33 is LCM
30)
88
4,8,12,16,20,24,28,32- 36,40,44,48,52,56,60,64- 68,72,76,80,84,88
88 is LCM
