How do you write song lyrics? Just wondering cuz i love to write and want to know how to write song lyrics. Thank you

Writing lyrics is a craft. There are various forms. Lyrics are not poems as they are meant to be heard and need to be understood (meaning-wise) when heard. The listener doesn't have a chance read and reread while the song is playing. They are similar to poems as they have a rhythm and should emote.

Build off the flow of a couple words that may get stuck in your head. You might just have a couple of words or a phrase stuck in your head, but use it because it's stuck there for a reason even if you have no meaning for them. Flow off of that. Make meaning out of the few lines that come from those words. It can be a self-help thing too, but doesn't have to be.

Don't worry about rhyming or format or what audience that you're writing for. Don't worry especially if you feel self-concious, like someone might think that it's stupid. It will reach more people if it's honest so only think of yourself in the creating/writing stage.

Seriously, take two words or a phrase that you like and let it flow.

If you have only been exposed to limited styles of music, listen and re-listen to music that you don't like/have never been exposed to/are from other countries. Re-listen to the stuff you feel that you haven't been exposed to and inspires you the most...over and over. This will bring breadthe to your writing. Listen until exhaustion, but don't look for anything while you listen...just listen.

Also, pay attention to the phrasing of the songs that affect you the most. Listen and re-listen to them, but don't try to copy... just take this format into account and keep it at the back of your mind.

Just find what it is in yourself that you need to express and let it out! Start with a couple words or a phrase that you created that won't stop bugging you.

writing lyrics for a song is kinda like poetry.
it depends on what exactly your muse is.
you dont really have to have a muse to write a song.
songs follow a certain pattern .
it depends if u want it to have a chorus. a bridge or just flow.

i just kinda write what i feel. Advice i can give would b try not to b straighforward. Try to get what you feel out in different words. For example instead of saying it was the worst thing that ever happened to me, say something like when the rock falls, if always hits with a bang... get what i mean?

when i work with my bnd what i do is at any time of the day, no matter what i'm doing, ifmi think of something i write it down on anything. then when i get some time i go back and read them and try to work something out. you just got to know what you want it to be about kinda. just think when something pops in your head, write it down and then work with it.

well i write songs, and im going to colage, so:

there is NO special way to write songs, but its like writing a paraghraph of whats going on in your life, then when the paraghragh is done, you put a beat into it, earse some words or replace them, and there u go!
