Perimeter is defined as the distance completely around an object. Each object has a different formula.

Rectangle
Perimeter = 2 X Lengths + 2 X Widths
P = 2l + 2w

Triangle
Perimeter = a + b + c
(add the length of the three sides)

Trapezoid
Perimeter = area + b1 + b2 + c
P = a + b1 + b2 + c
where b1 is the top length and b2 is the longer bottom length

Circle
The perimeter of a circle is called the circumference.
c = Pi * diameter = 2 * radius * Pi
