you mean cause the book to go up?

The book pushes down( hopefully) and the table pushes upward. Both forces are appose each other and equal so there is no movement down nor upward. The is no net force.

the table uses a force to push up on the book. the book uses a force (gravity) to push down on the table. the two forces are Equal and Opposite. Newton's 2nd Law.

The book exerts an equal and opposite force on the table. The resultant force is 0 and the book and the table stay stationary.
