Most of Congress do not want to send the troops..yes even the Republicans...so why does Bush insist on sending them ?

i don't know where you heard that, but i suggest you find out from sources other than the media in this country.
i've read several articles lately that some of the Iraqi's hope it'll help. i've also read an article about Britain withdrawing 3,000 of THEIR troops, and the locals were quoted in the paper BEGGING them to stay. i'll go find it.
as for Congress, they should all go over and talk to the Iraqi's about pulling out.

John try this link beofre lecturing the questioner. I have also read stories online and seen them on TV regarding Iraqi reluctance to see more Americans in their country.
The fact is, they dont want us there. And Ive never been one to go to partys I aint invited to.

See - there is this idea that the muslims are trying to kill all of the americans and "destroy our way of life", regardless that they have no way to do so even if it was true - and they have failed to demonstrate. But people like their own ideas so much, and they invest time and money and political capital in it to the exclusion of all else to such an enormous extent, they feel this reluctance to admit that it was all wrong and they continue to doggedly believe, and they get nutty to the point of it becoming an obsession.
