Phoenix Starfire should ease up...He is a little too serious about that. This is how it really works.

I am not sure what is all the fuss is about, it's simple. Go sit in the desert until A) They set off a gamma ray bomb of somesort unleashing some strange id. B) Go on a field trip to a corporation known for unsafe and unclean testing and get bit by something. C) Where your underpants on the outside of your jeans and wear a fanny pack with things like a gasmask, some sunscreen, some scuba gear, a boomerang in the shape of a boomerang, and some suction cups. While this won't make you have superpowers the ones that do will totally let you hang out with them.

Good question. Now superhuman can refer to many things, although most likely acheiving a state beyond the physical. This would mean that although you may employ a physical body it would not be subject to the aging and decomposition of mortal bodies.
To date I have only found one likely way to achieve this without the extremely difficult and challenging path of reaching spiritual perfection and essentially becoming an ascended master, and that is via a substance called O.R.M.E (Often pronounced Ormay). It stands for Orbitally Re-arranged Monatomic Element, and according to the theories it is the purest version of any earthbound element.
Although ORME is primarily derived from Gold, and is more correctly known as Gold ORME, virtually all Platinum Group Metals (PGM's) will yield ORME when refined enough. There is a company I found on the web (Sorry, can't remember the address) that sells ORME of a number of PGM's.
ORME derived from PGM's is supposed to have varying healing properties and when introduced to the subject who is ready MAY cause their molecules to mutate at the DNA level and vibrate at a higher rate. This in turn is theorised to make the subject virtually immortal.
Please note this is theoretical as I have not had the time or money to test the substances myself.

--Leave Kansas. Seriously, between the dayglo "meteor rocks" and all the Jesus Freaks, is it any wonder your Self-esteem is in the cellar?

--Read Nietzche. And when you think you get it, read it again.

--And when you can't possibly be sure you *can* get Nietzche, skip the reading for a bit, rent some DVDs, I hear the _Matrix_ films are good.

--And when you are done laughing at how much *worse* the situation could be (thank your lucky star The One *is not* named Keanu)....

Do an Advanced Yahoo or Google Search for the phrases "remote viewing and influence", "particle level telekinesis" and the "CIA/Stanford Research Institute" studies.

And start thinking small. ^_^ Because after you bake your brain on some of that, do a search on "epigenetics" and on "methylized DNA". The idea is that every bit of DNA in our bodies has a very select few on and off switches.

And what you are looking to do is to *find* some dormant DNA in your body that looks like it should be on (courtesy of some "Remote viewing" and that "Human Genome Project"), but that is off instead (has an extra Methyl chain attached).

And then you *turn it back on* courtesy of that "Particle Level Telekinesis".

Ok, so you might wind up with cancer too, but how else do you think you're going to turn the Kewl Powerz back on??

Thanks for your time! :) Just watch what you do with that Heat Vision (yes, it's *possible*, and way messier and nastier than what the comics make it out to be).
