this dreams are relatively common and may be a reflection of the confusion and conflict that you experience in daily life. Dreams with nightmarish themes suggest that the dreamer has unconscious negative emotions such as fear, anxiety, and anger. If you are not dealing with these feeling consciously, your dreams are compensating and bringing into awareness the need for honest reflection and emotional balance in daily life.

These kind of super-nightmares are known as "night terrors". I've had a few night terrors in my life - Very few, fortunately.
1st, I think malaney is right in saying that nothing in your dreams can harm you. It's important to understand this.
2nd, you need to consider what's going on in your life that may be causing your nightmares. Have you been under a lot of stress lately? Are you or is someone you know having marital or relationship, health, work or financial problems?
Finally, if these dreams are so frequent as to affect your quality of life, you should see a doctor. This may be a psychiatric issue or there may be an underlying physical cause.
Good luck & pleasant dreams to you.

First I say do not be afraid. One of the best things you can do is realize on a conscience level that nothing in your dreams will hurt you. Tell yourself from this day forward your nightmares will become beautiful dreams. Tell yourself your in control and stronger then anything you confront on your sub conscience level. This may take a little but don't give up and soon you'll find yourself snoozing like a baby and maybe even kicking a little bootie in those dreams. Good Luck! Stay Strong.

Yes. Most will go back to sleep and it starts again. Some can even continue a dream if they fall asleep right away. Start by not thinking about it anymore. This dream. It's just a dream. It will stop soon. If you continue to let it bother you and you think daily about it, it won't stop. You are going to be find. If you can't control not thinking about it? Just sleep with lights on.
Sweet dreams. Take care.

I recommend seeing a doctor. I had nightmares that tornadoes were killing me in every nightmare. But at the point that would happen i would wake up. I also had nightmares of my father being stabbed in the back by a hitman. I think it was physological fear of it happening. The nightmare's may go away on their own as they did for me. But i recommend seeing a doctor. Now i have dreams that make no sense.
