They call it a hamburger because once, when a pig was being prepared in Midevil times, the person who stuffed its mouth stuffed it with a metal apple. Inside of it was a bunch of beef. The townspeople were very angered, as you can imagine. Or, of course, it could originally have been made with pork. But theory number one sounds more likely, don't you think?;)

Wow, that's a good question...something that never crossed my mind.
But I agree with whoever mentioned Hamburg, Germany. I'm too lazy to look it up on wikipedia or google, but i bet that answer is correct.
It's a much better question than the stupid one I thought about several years ago. ....The day I figured out how we came up with the word "Birthday" Thankfully I figured that one out on my own.
