i think yes and this is for my debate so please say yes because i need a poll and i think yes because what if it was an emergency and you didnt have the phone on and plus you can always vibrate it and put it on silence so it wont disturb the class but wat do u think???

i agree and disagree - it shouldnt be allowed to be in a classroom for simply chatting with someone but if your in a college university, hopefully your a little mature and realize that your there to learn not socialize. i have two kids so i always have mine on but on vibrate - that way if the babysitter needs to call she can and i can just excuse myself from the classroom -im in a big school where they dont take messages in the office and they actually recommend having a phone- so i say high school - college - hopefully yes you can use common sense and respect for others

I have to vote no. I remember what we did BEFORE cel phones. If there was an emergency a school official came to the room and got you. I also don't like people to have them on in restaurants while I'm trying to enjoy my dinner.

If you are at school and need to be contacted, then whoever is contacting you should call the office. What constitutes an emergency for some may not be worth disrupting the class.

no its irritating- some people you give them a little and they ruin it for the rest who don't take advantage of the rules-i almost shoved 2 cell phones up these chicks a hole because they kept text-messaging one another its rude I'm there to learn
