You can measure your menstrual cycle by counting from the first day of menstrual bleeding, Day 1, right up to the next menstrual bleeding. From Day 1 of bleeding to Day 1 of the next time of bleeding is the menstrual cycle. While the average cycle length is 28 days, it is perfectly normal to have a menstrual cycle that lasts 21 to 35 days.

Unpredictable or longer menstrual cycles are normal for teenagers and women in their 40s. If you are a teen, your cycles should even out with time. If you are nearing the age of menopause, your menstrual cycles will probably become longer and will eventually stop.

Hello,
A normal one for you might not be normal for the next women. We are all different.
Some bleed few days, some 9 days.
Did you know if you are in the household with other ladies for a period of time, you will change cycle to have all the same time.
I sure didn't believe this until happen to my household and then was told by my family doctor this is so.
Here is abnormal :
If been having your period the same way for quite a while, then began to change.
Not by days but more or less blood, darker, lighter bleed or even More than you usual period that month. -You just had a regular bleed than week later came again darker, spotting or heavier.
These can be alarm signs to go see your family doctor.
Some women could be pregnant and not be aware of this for the first month or two because they have some blood (You might mistake it for normal period)
Hope I answered what you need to know.
Sandra

Every 3 to 4 weeks it comes and lasts anywhere from 3 to 7 days. Each woman is slightly different.
