My top 10 2007 Fantasy Baseball Picks:
1) 1B Albert Pujols, St. Louis: There's a lot of good 1B you can get later in the draft (Ryan Howard, Derrek Lee, Lance Berkman), but Pujols stands the test of time that he can produce. A World Series win will motivate a player to repeat again and the same (or similar lineup) will propel Pujols into another great season (despite missing 14 games last season to injuries).
2) SS Jose Reyes, NY Mets: Jeter may be the best all-around NY SS in town, but don't discount this kid as nothing. He can hit double digit in HR, as well as SB (he lead the league with 64). With the same lineup (or better), expect Reyes to mature this season.
3) OF Alfonso Soriano, Cubs: Big money become big expectation for a player entering into his 30's. He's not going to repeat his 40-40-40 feat anytime soon, but expect something similar for a Cubs team that has Aramis Ramirez, Derrek Lee, and Michael Barrett in the lineup. He could be a bust candidate this season, so proceed with caution.
4) SP Johan Santana, Minnesota: Arguably the best pitcher in the market, he's durable, can give you 15-18 wins, 200 K's, mid-3.00 ERA, and now he has support from MVP Justin Morneau, Joe Mauer and Torri Hunter on offense that use to be a joke in town. Missing Francisco Liriano in the rotation will be a test of endurance to carry this team, but Santana has done this before and will do it again.
5) 1B Ryan Howard, Phillies: He's young and has a lot of power to spare, entering his third year in the league. With no injuries in the past, he (along with Pujols) are the most durable 1B out there and playing most of his game on a hitting park means great number, but 58 might be out of reach.
6) 3B Alex Rodriguez, Yankees: Who cares if NY fans are selfish and who cares if he doesn't "clutch" during the playoffs? A-Rod is still the best 3B who is durable (you can't say the same to other 3B around) and although were not looking for a 40 HR season, he still the best in his position.
7) OF Carlos Beltran, Mets: He finally found his stroke again and with the same lineup, expect the same.
8) 1B/DH David Ortiz, Boston: Beantown favorite son is making another run for an MVP nomination with his 40 HR barrage and with Manny and J.D. aboard, Ortiz is going to crush more balls. The reason that he is lower is because his position: various league can either assign him as a 1B or DH, but no matter where he plays, he can produce.
9) 3B Miguel Cabrera, Florida: He's young and still maturing, but he the up-and-coming 3B that will carry this team from the NL East cellar for years to come (unless the team is being sold).
10) 2B Chase Utley, Phillies: Soriano is no longer a 2B, so Utley will take this spot and run it with 100 RBI seasons for years to come in his position.

pujols or reyes...
There are nearly 1/3 as many steals a year as there are homeruns and one full category is done on steals. If reyes can carry your team in one category, add a ton on runs, give a high BA, hit 20 hrs or more (still only 24) and drive in 70-80 runs. That is great. After that Soriano, Santana, Howard, Crawford.

I would definitly pick Soriano because he had a monster season last year in RFK Stadium which is the most pitcher friendly stadium in the MLB and he still was among the top of the list in every catagory last season. Now he is playing for the Cubs and has more help than he did in Washington and playing in Wrigley field which is very batter friendly. He is my pick for MVP in 2007.

If this was fantasy basketball, Nate Robinson might be intriguing. But for Baseball, Nate Robertson is a fair SP at best. He is no better than any of the guys you have, and whoever said to drop Maine or Burnett, well, they are in the running for morons of the year. I would possibly drop a bench hitter for Robertson, but I am guessing there are better SP's on your FA list available than Robertson.

Its easily Pujols and heres why.
He's young and in his prime, only 27 years old
Hes averaged 45 homers and 125 RBI's over the last four years.
He hits for good average.
He is going to give you excellent production with BA, HR, RBI, R and hes a safe pick. If you can take Albert do it and be happy

I won my league last year and my MVP was Carlos Beltran, He has all offensive stats covered, much like Soriano. Of the 3 you listed Soriano is tops. Get Beltran if you can!

Albert Pujols! Because he is a triple threat on offense. High batting average, home runs, rbi's and runs scored. Okay that's a quadruple threat. Second would be Soriano. Steals, home runs, rbi's and runs scored.

Pojols would be first. He is a threat in 4 categories. HR., RBI, AVG, SLUG %. HOWARD IS A GREAT SECOND PICK. SOLID IN HR, RBI, AVG, MVP LAST YEAR. ANY STEALS ARE A ADD BONUS.
