Yes US government and its people are against dictatorship but infact if a president of a republic such as Iraq supported by only the biggest party Baath this type of democracy was unclear.Us is the king of democracy and hates dictators.Pakistan is a democracy republic headed by president and a premier as the head of gobvernment. The president of Pakistan is not a dictator.Pakistan is a good friend in the eyes of US so Bush let Pakistan as his friend for having nuclear bombs.USA as super power has nuclear bombs too.But Bush treated Iran and North Korea as his enemies, so Bush did not want Iran and South Korea for having nuclear bombs.
So Bush practiced a like and dislike treatment to other countries.
Bush has a double standards for that.

for the same reason your country killed 4000+ in panama under bush sr , or overthrew democratically elected leader of chile sept 11 1973, or helped overthrow the democratically elected government on iran that paved the way for theocracy, or the way the usa supported a coup in venezuela that lasted a few hours even though chavez was democratically elected, or the way usa does not recognize the democratically elected government of palestine, or the reason why usa armed saddam.... i could keep going on. america basically is a multifaced hypocrite, that does not care a wit about human rights only about keeping its plutocracy chugging along
