....obviously straight? Do heterosexuals want special treatment for being a majority?

Lauren - I'm glad you're offended by this question. This question is what heterosexuals have been asking gay people for the last 50 years. Now you know how I as a gay man feels....

"Heterosexual couples don't realize how much affection they give in public because it's the "norm" for them to act that way. They don't get people giving them dirty looks when they give their boyfriend a hug and kiss as the go to to leave a restaurant, etc"

Which is why I try to do my part to remind them of how much affection they give in public by sharing similar dirty looks and sneers, as well as loud comments about how disgusting heterosexuals can be about being so open with their sexuality.

I think your question has to do with perspective. Obviously being a minority you're going to view what the majority does as a little overwhelming to behold. The truth is many heterosexuals view homosexuals as being the ones shoving their sexuality down everyone elses throat mainly I think because over the last decade more and more images of homosexuality have made there way into what we see daily on TV, movies, etc. It's becoming more acceptable to see two guys holding hands down the street at least in most cities.

Heterosexual couples don't realize how much affection they give in public because it's the "norm" for them to act that way. They don't get people giving them dirty looks when they give their boyfriend a hug and kiss as the go to to leave a restaurant, etc. I think many gay people take issue with it because we so desperately want that. We want to show affection openly without the sneers and the ridicule.

My personal opinion is I don't care who you are or who you're showing affection to. At a certain point displays of affection should be done in a private setting vs out in public display. No one wants to know how well you've mastered the art of groping or your ability to shove your tongue down another human beings throat without them gagging.

It all comes down to respect and decency toward others.

I'm a heterosexual who could care less if you hump goats. Just treat me with the respect you'd like and we'll get along fine.

I so happen to be heterosexual and I really don't care who sleeps with who.

I am really offended by this question.

I don't at all. I personally people should be happy...so if that means being a homosexual then so be it! I don't try to change things about people because that's what makes them them. If they wanted to be straight than they would have been!

I know what you mean! Holding hands in public, kissing each other good bye! It's repulsive. And don't get me started on beer commercials!
