1) Pick something you already know about. This will save you from having to do research. And you won't be as likely to forget info.
2) Pick something you really enjoy - a hobby, a sport, a pet's care, etc. If you enjoy your subject, you will be more relaxed, smile more, and be more energetic.
3) Instead of looking at this as a presentation, prepare as if you are telling a friend (who knows nothing about the topic) about it.
4) Make an outline to prepare a logical order to what you are saying. Then write what you want to say.
5) Don't "read" your speech to your audience - Make a list of just a few words to keep you on track. If I were to talk about how to bake a cake, I might use "equipment needed", "ingredients", "time & temp", and "when done?". This keeps you looking at the audience more, and LESS likely to lose your place in the talk.
6) If you're using slides, overheads, visual aids, etc., put them in the order you will use them - it will also help keep you on track.

First Inpressions........You can get like 25 blank pieces of paper....and pass it out...the students will notice its blank and you will say its blank because .....They are supposed to write thier first inpression of you that they had.......
Many people dont like eachother because of what they think about that person but they dont even really know them......Basicly you can talk about how first inpressions mess up friendships and start fights.
Many people will probley say ''I thought you were stuck up because........''
In reality they were just afraid to be nice.
First Inpressions always do people good.
Then you can go around the room and let peole say thier first inpression.....
It gives you an A and you will even make new friends.

Check out http://www.ClassTopic.com They have some great topics that I've used in the past. Each topic has three good sources to get you started on the research, too.
