I liked Sith, it was great. I have the Star Wars ornament that has OB1 and Anakin in the lightsaber fight and you press a button and it has the movie quote. Probably did it a hundred times before I was made to put it away. "You were the chosen one, you were supposed to bring balance to the force not leave it in darkness"
But my favorite would be Empire. It was such a great twist ending that you didn't see coming and I grew up with it so it holds a place in my childhood.

Empire Strikes Back. I had to wait 3 years to see it because my dad was unemployed the year it came out. I didn't get to see it on the big screen till it was re-released. It was worth the wait. But then I'll never forget being transfixed by "A New Hope" when I was 7.
Which Star Wars fan hasn't watched a frame by frame of Luke's hand coming off?

It's a hard choice but the original trilogy leave the prequels standing in the dust.
Episode IV because at age seven I was mesmerised.
Episode V because it showed Star Wars could be darker but still watchable by children. (And I never watched Luke's hand being cut off frame-by-frame.)
Episode VI because they upped the ante on the space battles.

Empire strikes back. The darkest film because at one point it extinguished hope, the central theme of Star Wars. Things dont get more interesting when a show turns on its core values and themes.

I like "Empire Strikes Back" - it moved the series out of the realm of child-friendly Space Opera and into the darker territory in which it actually dwells - plus, it took real balls for Lucas to follow the most successful "feel-good" movie in history with a sequel which ended with all his characters in such bleak circumstances.

Empire Strikes Back - by far the best drama and acting of the six films. Not to mention the biggest plot reveal in cinemal history... "Luke, I am your father."
