It is still masturbating even if you don't orgasm, but from what you describe I'm pretty sure you did. Most women need clitoral stimulation to orgasm. When I masturbate I pretty much concentrate only on that area. Try using your new toy on your clit while also using something to penetrate yourself with - that's the best of both worlds! As for how long it takes to reach climax, that depends on the woman and her mood. If you are really "hot" then it might happen right away, otherwise you will have to warm up to it. A climax takes a while to build if you are not "in the mood" when you start. Try watching some erotic videos or reading erotic stories to get yourself more "in the mood."

Why do I get the impression you are really a 14 year old boy messing around? Very little of that story sounds likely.
If you are serious - it sounds like you did have an orgasm. It is no surprise that if you are just now discovering your sexuality that it took an hour to get warmed up and have an orgasm.
