what is your definition of fun ? what age group ?
In the evening there is a bar WILD WEST which is on Richmond and quite fun (I am a european and this was my introduction to an oval dance floor where people danced in couples for some of the country music or rock and on their own for the more rap musics. there is a mix of ages (at least on friday nights), entrance is $6.
If you are more into live music, you should check the Greensheet for live musics available in most stores in the free section or if staying in a hotel check the HoustonChronicle
If you want to ice skate there is a rink at the Memorial city Mall west of downtown
lots of restaurants and bars in Montrose (also the gay center of the city) which is lively.
If you like Frogs there is a new exhibit on at the museum of natural history
I would also recommend seeing the Rothko Chapel or teh Menil collection just a short walk away

Well you go to our lovely museums and parks. Also you go the mall. Let's see a the movies like the Movie Tavern. You go see a play or symphony. In the theatre district. We have plenty on restaurants to dine at. Also the Village and the Woodlands have fun things to do.

my favorite thing to do was go downtown....
they have shops and stores in the tunnels downtown so you get away from the heat...
if it's this time of year, galveston is a great place because the weather is mile, you can actually drive your car on the beach, and the crowds are gone...
riding the ferry from galveston to bolivar island is also a lot of fun, as is the katy mills mall

there's lots of things to do in houston...i dont know what age group you are in but you can look in the greensheet under entertainment for ideas.

you can go to spring texas. (its like a hour from houston) and go to the water park there
or you could go to the galleria
or the woodlands which i highly recommend since it is beautiful there
