It kind of depends what you like and want. Personally, I think San Diego is the best overall. The best weather (it's 74 and sunny right now), housing is cheaper than LA and SF, a lot less traffic than LA and SF too, it's not as crowded as those two either. The people are very friendly and nice and you will most likely meet several people from wherever you are moving from b/c everyone here is from somewhere else. Ton's of people from Boston and New England area. ton's of people from the midwest and east coast. Great vibe here b/c people want to live here and are looking to just have a good time and enjoy the place. There's always something to do year round and the beaches are amazing.

LA is a great city but you have to have thick skin to live there. It's very crowded and the traffic is horrible everywhere. But there is so much to do there and so many different types of people there. Great beaches, beautiful mountains, deserts, ect.. Lot's of cool things nearby like Santa Barabara, Orange County, and Las Vegas aint that far either. The Westside and Beverly Hills are very nice and the best part of LA and there is tons of things to do in that area, but it is one of the most expensive part of CA. That part of LA also has the worst traffic congestion. If you live in BH you will be surrounded by that whole Hollywood/Celebrity culture and lifestyle, which can be good or bad depending on you. The town is kind of obsessed with celebrities b/c they are everywhere there and someone always seems to know whoever in the biz. People are always trying to drop famous names and be part of that celebrity "in crowd".There are areas that are less snobby areas though and away from that Hollywood type crap, like the Los Feliz or Silverlake areas, Santa Monica is also a really cool place to live and the people are pretty chill.

SF is a great city too; amazing architecture, very urban and dense, very walkable and good public transit. The weather is pretty crappy though, very cold, windy, and foggy year round. The people there are kind of pretentious and full of themselves. They are very liberal and are constantly complaining about everything b/c the world isn't perfect and not suited to them. They kind of think they are better than everyone else in the country and "ahead of the curve and more informed". Not all the people there are like that though, there are plenty of chill, laid back people. Just don't discuss politics unless you lean really far left, even nancy pelosi is too moderate for some San Franciscan's.

CA has some great cities but it all depends what you are looking for and what types of people and things you want to be around. I still say SD b/c you will probably meet more people like yourself, a transplant. And transplants like to meet other transplants.

San Fransisco is a very 'happening' place- As are many places in California. There and Hollywood are places you can always find something new or some party to go to. Another very nice place is San Diego. Good beaches, surfing, restaurants... Beverly Hills is one of those places a lot of people move to just because they have heard about it, like Orange County or Laguna Beach. There is not much to do there, and if you ask me it is a pretty boring place to live, country-ish though, if that is what you prefer. Hope this helps.

Amber it sounds like you threw the proverbial dart at the map.. and said Gee That looks good...

The Pro's of California.. Laid back atmosphere and nobody gets in a hurry.. (Just look at the traffic..)
The Con's Well when you stack millions of people in a tiny strip of land that is on one side mountains, the other an ocean with a healthy stretch of Desert in there to boot.. the tension will rise and so will prices..

As far as real info.. Google it..

and after it's all done.. If you do decide to Move there I hope you make a Million Bucks!!

San Fransisco, Oakland, and Berkley are pretty good cities. They both have a lot of jobs, culture, food, and things to do. Plus you will always see or bump into someone famous. Not everyday, but enough, depending on the area. PS Driving is a pain! Traffic is terrible

NOT the San Francisco Bay Area. I live there.
It is VERY expensive, overcrowded, traffic is horrible, crime is bad in highly urbanized areas, AND the BIG ONE (earthquake) can literally happen ANY day!
