I would try to find a nice dark skirt suit and wear a fabulous light blouse underneath. There are nice fall colors out there, so shop for a nice skirt suit and find a co-ordinating blouse to wear.

Avoid dresses.
Shoes should have conservative heels.
Use a briefcase rather than a purse.
Conservative nail polish.
Minimal use of make up.
