War is just a way to state some ones opinion. Or if they know there opinion is wrong to trick the opponent to side with them.

Nobility is only right in a situation of war were you are being forced to fight, not fighting.

Your question can't be answered because of the situation of war that you might be asking about.

If war was noble how could we ever strive for a internationally profound and civilized world. Noble is a positive term and it can't be ever used when it comes with a negative situation for any side.

The people that think war is a noble thing, think this because they are trying to justify their actions. They are trying to bring a coating of right to something that is wrong.

In the time that forced war as I mentioned before, or any war becomes noble is the time that the person that has started or is in the war admits to his wrong doings and tells the world of his actions and reasons but does not justify them or influence them.

In short how can war be noble if nobility is hard to find in day to day life?

I'd like to point out an interesting example.

Back in the 4th century BC, during the end of the Zhou reign, wars were seldom fought. Instead, you'd have the 2 army leaders who would just duke it out. And whoever won the duel won the war.

Is that noble?

By the way, that all ended with the rise of Tchao and Qin a century later.

No, war is not noble. Think about it....in war, do the leaders EVER do the fighting? Or do they sit back safely and direct while "lesser men" kill and die? What could possibly be noble about killing?

depends on your point of view. is it noble to offer you life for the safety of others, of course. is all war for the safety of others, no. some times it's over petty border disputes, financial or political gain. and by political gain i mean not only for the fighters, the political doves use war as a tool as well. if your question comes from the direction of our current world situation the same rules apply. the only difference is there are those on all sides and points of view in the argument that claim to be giving up their own life for those they love. from our soldiers hoping to help a people build a government to the people building the government to the people killing our soldiers claiming to defend their homeland. whether they are right or wrong is inconsequential, from a point of view all the participants can simultaniously be considered undertaking a noble and evil task at the same time. even the american doves who are calling the us troops home can be said to be taking up a noble battle from their own point of view. i guess all i'm saying is that it's a case of personal beliefs.

Pursuing peace is noble, as is defending your family, clan or nation if that fails.

But, when it comes to actual battle, everyone loses, moreso if large groups are involved.

In every war there are many acts of despicable cruelty, ihhumane and unethical behavior.

There is no glory in war, but there is always a new generation who may not be aware of this.

nobility in a war depends always on the cause or rather the circumstances that led to the war decide as to how noble it is...all wars are never meant for destruction and violence. It sometimes is the only solution to handle the situation."When a person is into a war he is always dedicated to his goals and has a strong determination put forth for his opinion".This statement if taken optimistically ,just means that war help us in being confident, dedicated and determined provided "ITS FOR A GOOD CAUSE AND ID DEFINITELY GOING TO FETCH YOU SOMETHING".

There can be acceptable reason to go to war (e.g., self-defense), but the actuall prosecution is always bloody and ruthless.
