I am working at one place right now, where I do not have any problem. I tried for another job and I am offered good money and a position. They called me and give me an offer letter also. But, after giving lot of thoughts, talking to my friends, family members, relatives and office colleagues. I feel my present job is more suitable to me, mentally as well as physically & monitory also. So, how do I refuse a new job offer, by not harming my credibility and relations with them ?

I think that happens quite a bit, esp. since people often get counteroffers from their existing jobs and get offered higher salaries. So that kind of thing happens frequently. But I would call them immediately to let them know and not procrastinate, so they can work on filling the spot, re-advertising, etc. The sooner you let them know, the more professional it is and the more courteous and credible you are being.

Its hard. If you have already accepted you will look bad by refusing. But the only thing you can do is go back to the person who interviewed you and tell them that unfortunately you will not be able to take the position. Tell them that you have given it a lot of consideration but you cannot accept.

If you haven't signed any acceptance letter you have a right to refuse the job. Just do it politely explain to them that you feel you should stay where you are for personal reasons.

You need to be professional when you are going to refuse a position. It can go like this "To Whom It May Concern: I have been giving some careful consideration to your proposed position and although it is generous and a marvelous opportunity I find that I am happy with my current situation."

Then add your respects and that is the end of it.

call the person that interviewed you & explain that you took another position. no harm, no foul. if they ask questions-be honest. nothing negative will happen. every time I interview for new jobs, I get offered a lot of jobs that I decline & no one has ever had anything bad to say to me. good luck!

Just be the polite and CONSIDERATE person that you appear to be so naturally. Kindly explain that your present employer has renewed your position and you are happy there. Be sure to ask if you could be considered for the job in the future if the cause arises. Good luck!!!

That's not at all unusual. Just tell them that you've looked at their offer, and that you're not able to accept. Thank them for their time. That shouldn't affect anything at all.

Maybe you just have to tell them the truth..Sometimes it's also an adventure if you will execute new stuff...but if you feel like sticking to one..it's a choice and only you can choose it..Goodluck!!
