The best job is not a job at all. Find a vocation that you enjoy and could see spending your career doing. People that are fortunate enough to know that at your age are very fortunate indeed. They seem to live effortless lives, are happy and generally make enough money to satisfy their needs. It is a rare recent high school graduate that possesses that much insight into themselves and their future.

Not to worry if you're not certain as to where to focus. At least try and pin down a general area that you think that you'd be happy and successful in. Say, "business", "arts", "education", "medicine", "law", etc. Select your college based upon your general interest. You must take the same general courses that all freshman must take and experiment with which electives you choose. See where that takes you and consider your options as you gain more college experience and insight into yourself.

Most colleges do not make a student select a major until their junior year. Some still can't do it by then or have changed their minds as to what they originally chose. It might take you 5 years to graduate if you take that course. Not a bad path if you have the time and money. College life can be a very special happy time in your life. It's not a bad way to spend an extra year before entering the "work" world or going on to graduate school.

Figure out what you like to do. What do you find interesting. There are so many careers available. Check a book out for ideas. And remember nothing is written in stone. You can do more then one thing. Good Luck.
