I am working at one place right now, where I do not have any problem. I tried for another job and I am offered good money and a position. They called me and give me an offer letter also. But, after giving lot of thoughts, talking to my friends, family members, relatives and office colleagues. I feel my present job is more suitable to me, mentally as well as physically & monitory also. So, how do I refuse a new job offer, by not harming my credibility and relations with them ?

Submit a letter...I regretfully have to decline the wonderful offer. I have decided that at the present time, I am better suited for the position I currently hold. Thank you for the opportunity. I am sure you will find another candidate who is suited for the job and ready to assume the chaallenge of the position.. Again thank you.

Regards,

Call them back and tell them you decided against it. If it is the government they have 300 other people that want the job. They don't care if you take it or not.

You are not going to harm your credibility ... they are the government ... they don't know anything about credibility, plus as soon as you turn down the job . . . they will never remember who you were if you choose to apply again in the future.

It's not a big deal. Better than going against your better judgement and quitting later.
