To be completely honest with you.. I don't know. I don't even notice the money go out. I just get them what they need and it seems like they don't cost hardly anything. Now I am a stay at home mom and the only thing I really notice is the diapers. But even those aren't too bad. Hope someone else can help you more.

It depends upon your child, too. I think a lady above me said about $80 for formula, but my son is a big boy and eats a lot. Currently we're spending about $200 a month on formula, $40 a month on diapers plus whatever clothes and toiletry items we buy him, which honestly i don't keep up with.
The bottom line is a baby is another person in your family. Expect to pay about the same as if the baby were an adult.

It all depends. If you breast feed, bottle feed, daycare ,no daycare.
The best thing i can tell you is my hubby earns around 2,600 a month. We have a 545 house payment but that includes all utlitys but cable phone and eletric) We dont have a car payment and for our renter and car insurance we spend 60 a month. And we live fairly comfortable with one child. I am now expecting my second. But we do live fairly cheaply. I shop at second hand stores for clothes for the kids. We have no credit cards or loan payments either. I am a proud cupon clipper and shop at dented can stores. If you want a child that bad see if there are any expenses you could cut out. When we dicided to have a second. We got ride of the car with payments and higher insurance. That saved use around 500 a month. If you have any creditcard debt get that payed off first. See if you can cut your grocery bills anything like that. Good luck

I say the main thing to average in is diapers, milk and daycare if you plan on going back to work. I think parents make babies more expensive than they really are. We tend to buy more than we need, clothes especially. I am very lucky to have had all boys. I have lots of hand-me-downs.

This all depends on whether you buy name brand products, or brand new products. You can purchase alot of brand new items at garage sales, or slightly used items. As far as products go, you can go with the store brand or discount brand. Also making your own baby food helps to save $ and is also healthier for your baby. It really is up to you.

so far i don't notice much cost. we just spend differently. no more dinners out, fewer toys for us like DVDs, etc. now the money goes to stuff for him. It helps that we both work and make decent money... not wealth, but not bad.

If you wait until you can actually afford a baby, you'll never have one. There isn't a fixed price along with them.
