im just wondering.

"Since warm air rises this leaves an area of lower pressure at the surface."

Warm air does not rise just because it is warm. Less dense air rises as it is forced upwards by denser air. Rising less dense air does not create an area of lower pressure at the surface unless it moves away in the upper troposphere. The movement is caused by the upper level horizontal pressure gradient created by expansion of air at the equator and it is because the air moves poleward from the equator that lower pressure is created at the surface.

The low pressure region over the tropics is called the Equatorial Trough. It is caused by the intense heating received from incoming solar radiation. Since warm air rises this leaves an area of lower pressure at the surface.

Local winds blowing from sea to land is the Sea Breeze Effect. It too is caused by surface of the land heating up and thus rising. This creates relatively lower pressure over land and higher pressure over adjacent water such as the ocean or a lake. Winds flow from high pressure to low pressure resulting in a sea breeze.

The wind blows from the sea to the land during the day because the land heats up faster than the water does. Warm land causes the air over the land to warm up too, causing it to rise. Cool air from over the sea rushes in to replace it. During the night, the process reverses since the land cools faster.

Don't know about the low pressure area; I didn't realize that it existed.

a number of the information i've got observed is slightly misguided. To make it basic, The jetstream is an area of lively climate with diverse branches, circling the whole globe. The jetstream particularly impacts the temperature and climate development around the U.S., with the southern element being heat and dry, and the northern element being less warm and greater moist. The westerlies are a triumphing west wind around the U. S.. while a tropical cyclone makes landfall interior the U.S. (or gos too far interior the northern Atlantic), it gets caught up into the westerlies, and could develop up at the instant to the east. Easterlies are the main guidance currents for tropical cyclones on an identical time as interior the Atlantic ocean (tropical Atlantic). it is what reasons the platforms to go westward faraway from Africa (watch a satellite tv for pc loop and you will see clouds shifting west-to-east over North u . s . of america, and clouds shifting east-to-west south of that). wish this facilitates!
