$100 just on essentials???!!!! what kind of spoiled brat are you?
I spend less than $10 every week, unless I am out of town on a spacial trip. my family does not have $100 to spend a week at all, let alone $100 for every member of this family. unless you buy ALL your food, and gas $100 is WAY to much.

When I was living at home, had my own job and no allowance because I was working, I sure as heck couldn't spend even close to $100 a week!
On average I would spend $30 a month on makeup, $50 a month on clothes, and $60-80 a month on stuff likes going to the movies, playing pool, going out to a restuarant, etc.

What are the "essentials" to you and how can ANY essentials cost 100/week?! I am living on my own and my essentials are food and gas which, for two people, comes to less than $150 a week.

There are SEVERAL teens who don't get to spend any money. Spending one hundred dollars every week on just essentials is crazy!! That is way too much. People who have money don't even spend that much and if you're a teenager spending that much money at a young age, I'm afraid that it will hurt you in the long run. Do you know how to save? It's not easy paying your own bills when you plan to move out in a couple years, if that is even in your plans. I would definitely spend less than half of that but only if you have to. If not, save the rest!! You don't want to get into the bad habit of spending too much money, even when you don't have any. As of right now, I'd be thankful you even get that much a week. Most people don't! Good luck and I hope you don't shop compulsively because that will become a bad habit and it's a hard one to break!

What exactly are your "essentials"? If you're still living with your parents than I would think that everything is pretty much paid for already. Right? Except your car and maybe cell phone.

Anyways, I'm 17 and have no car... my parents pay for my cell phone bill (family plan, plus I rarely use it) and clothes (not a shopping fanatic) so everything I spend is pretty much on the fun stuff like cds, books, gifts, etc. I probably spend $25-$30 a week.

Well, I'm only 15, but I don't spend anything. I spend maybe $5 on snacks at lunch at school, tops. Wow, $100 a week? You must have some kind of money. My parents don't even spend that much a week!

Well with my own money I probably spend about $200 and that's threw out the whole year.

I don't get money for doing my chors to spend once a week or anything, my $200 is my Christmas and birthday money I save up.
And I don't really care that I don't get an allowance, I mean I wish I would sometimes, but I'm just happy spending time with my Mom rather then spending her money.

damn. when i was a teen... which was only 6 years ago.. my mom gave me $20 a week for gas, and $20 a week for lunch. My parents had alot of money, but they were not going to just hand it out. Other things.. well, I had to work for them if I wanted them. I think "essentials" would vary based on your social situation and what you consider essential. Now that I am a mom, I think I was spoiled for my parents paying for my gas... so I think anything more than money for food is a bit much if you arent doing anything to earn it.

I spend about bucks/week. Everyone has completely different spending limits, so i dont thik there really is an average. I get $150.00 a month from my parents. I think it's too much and I feel really bad taking so much of their money, but they make me take it because my sister gets that much and it would be "unfair" if I didn't.
