what are full size blue books required for some college classes?

Im aware that it is some sort of paper used to write essays but im still confused... where can i find it?

You buy it at the campus bookstore. It's just this thin notebook that has a blue cover. You use it instead of scantrons when taking a test that requires writing in answers (like essays).
