I am breastfeeding my 2 month old son and will continue to do so until he is at least 6 months. My breasts are sagging like water balloons. Will they be like this forever or will they perk up after I stop breastfeeding?

I'm afraid that they won't go back to being perky. Sorry.

They may perk back up a little, if you work out. But for the most part, they are forever "changed." But they are NOT "ruined"! Your whole body probably looks different, and will never be exactly the same as it was before you had kids. BUT WEAR YOUR NEW BODY WITH PRIDE!!!! You are making an incredible contribution to your son's health.....And... Think of all the women out there who are desperate to conceive but can't. They'd trade places with you in a heartbeat! Motherhood is an incredible blessing, and just like a soldier wears his "battle wounds" with pride...so should a mother have the same attitude about her saggy breasts, added weight, stretch marks, and all the other weird little things that happen to your body from having kids! The trade off is MORE than worth the cost! Good luck with your precious new baby!!

Check out the site below. Le Leche League International is a great resource for breastfeeding moms. There are articles on almost anything you can think of or have problems with.

Most areas also have a local league and you can connect with other bf mom's in your area which provides a great level of support.

no they are not forever ruined...forever changed maybe but not at all ruined. Embrace the new you. Keep in mind that your breasts would "sag like water balloons" regardless of if you breastfeed or not. The choice to breastfeed also protects you against breast cancer.

It depends on how large you are and how you take care of them. do not go without a bra. my breast were awful for about a year after both my babies but then they gradually went back to normal. they will never be 100% the same but no they are not ruined it just takes some time for your body to heal and reform so to speak. they will perk up but it takes a while

Mine didn't exactly get ruined after my first. I breastfed for 14 months. But I have heard you need to wear a comfortable underwire bra to bed and throughout the day. It will help with sagginess. After I'm done having children I'm heading straight for a plastic surgeon, lol. :)

they may perk up a bit, because there will be less weight in them when your milk dries up.. however.. they will always sag to a certain degree once they have begun the downward drag... sorry :( I feel your pain...

My boobs were great after my first baby. Now that I have had two and three, they have headed south.
