Having owned the British model (3000GT) the twin turbo is 4 wheel drive. There is no such thing as a front wheel drive 3000GT although a couple of club members have converted their cars by taking out the prop to the rear wheels. (God knows why!). the 3000gt vr4 twin turbo never was made but 4wd the 3000gt sl came with a front wheel drive

No. Only AWD. Who would want an FWD car with that much power?? Not to mention it has All Wheel Steering. It is a DSM though so expect some trouble.
Anyways, the regular version and the SL only come in front-wheel drive. This would be the same with the Dodge Stealth and it's R/T.

i think its actually all wheel drive, i could be wrong. my buddy has a 3000gt (not vr4) and he said the vr4 is all wheel drive.

No, it is a unique feature on that model. The other two models, base, and the SL (which I have) are front wheel drive.
