I want to know how to open it up, I tried looking for screws but cant find any. I have a cleaning disc but my ps2 is so messed up it even says disc read error with that.

Very carefully. There's little squares of plastic covering the screws, so you have to remove those first. And when you go to remove the cover DO NOT pull quickly. Do it very slowly and keep it close to the system at all times due to the little ribbon thing that connects things. Get some compressed air and blow all of the dust out. If it needs it, gently swipe the laser eye with a Q-tip that has been dipped into a tiny amount of rubbing alcohol.
Doing this yourself is risky. Your warranty and any hopes of it being put on Sonys end goes away if you take it apart.
BUT BEFORE YOU TAKE IT APART.
Try just getting a can of compressed air, opening the CD slot and blowing it in every possible direction. Clean out that expansion bay too.

I don't recommend opening up a ps2. but there are screws on the bottom. there are lirrle squares you can remove and the screws are under them.

u can buy a handheld vacuum, they really work and they are cheap, it gets the dust out and everything.

try a can of "air Spray" it works pretty good
