Fenders and Gibsons are tremendous guitars, yet they are really intense priced. fortuitously, they have more inexpensive lines that they placed out, Fender makes Squier guitars, and Gibson- epiphones. i began with a Squier affinity, that is a sturdy lower priced-midrange guitar. that is extra effective than the bullet line, yet somewhat more inexpensive than the classic. that is an all round strong guitar for the money. I also like Fenders because they are extra reachable to artwork on and regulate. Epiphones are often pricer than Squires, yet nonetheless a strong guitar. notwithstanding, when you're starting up, a guitar %. might want to probable be maximum acceptable. they in many cases contain an amp and a lead and so on. or there is the alternative of shopping for a second hand guitar. strong success guitar searching, and gaining knowledge of to play

it depends on what style you'd like to play.
i would say if you are going for a blues-light rock sound... go for a fender squire...
if you're looking for a more 'metal' sound... i would go with an ibanez (dual humbucker)...
and if you are looking for a good all-around rock guitar with a lot of low-end... i would definately go with an epiphone.
the pickups on the epiphone are FAR above anything out there for that price range.

and if you buy online... musicians friend has free shipping on all guitars right now.
it's a good time to buy.

Ibanez is a good economical brand, that doesn't cost a fortune, but they are playable professionally, and I've used a lot of different guitars, I've had the best, and I've played the cheap ones,!!!!

A fender knock-off called squire is pretty good, they come in different models and are the only company that fender allows to replicate their guitars, great guitar for someone who is'nt really serious about playing.

Costco and Sams is carrying a new Fender line called the "Starcaster". They are cheap, but I don't know how good they sound.
