I am a student from a Middle School and there are lots of sexy, hot, cute teenagers whom I don't know much about are scoring below 60% in their examinations! I saw their marks when I was giving out their test papers. It kind of surprised me but after seeing how they just seem to careless and continue to chatter away about their clothes, make-up, etc..boy, I was really shocked!

Some of my friends who are physically plump, have a pretty face and are smart aren't accepted because they are not cool enough or just not sexy enough for them. I belong in the middle because I don't show my body and I am the Top Student of the Year.

The kids who aren't good-looking but are super nice inside aren't accepted at all not even a single bit!

I am not asking you this question because I am not popular, it is due to the dissappointing facts which are taking place in almost every school.

Why? Oh, why..is the look on the outside is more vital then the inside? Beauty is winning too..why?

To answer your question would take far too long, since it covers so many fields of endeavour (science, social studies, economics, political propaganda and pressure, right/left wing values, etc...).

I can however point you in the right direction for finding the answer if you wish to look for it.

Research in your local library, university library and empirical research:

1. Mating Instincts of Mammals, Insects, Reptiles and Birds.
2. Social Structure and how it relates to Mating.
3. Religious Views throughout the ages and modern Religions.
4. Feminist Movement, Free Love Movement and their after-effects.
5. Economics of Fashion Magazines and Popular Media.
6. Every Teen movie ever made.
7. Social views on Intelligence as opposed to Looks (both Modern and Older).
8. Middle school society and social structure.

All of this will start to paint a picture as to why it is more important to look good than to be smart in middle school.

Hope this helps.

I was in high school from 2007-2011 the popular kids were cliche and not at the same time. 1. They wear AE, Aeropostal, etc; they have coach bags and wore plenty of makeup 2. They were the children of doctors, lawyers, the rich people 3. Football payers were as stupid as bricks and sometimes not the most popular. Being athletic (no matter the sport) made you more likely to become popular, something I never rightly understood. Another oddity was that many people in marching band were popular. i.e. they hardly feel under the nerdy, awkward stereotype. 4. You also described the popular students very well as that it was similar here too. ( fashionable, funny, slutty sometimes, they drink, do sexual stuff to get attention, skip class but get good grades). I always thought it was weird how many popular kids were athletic and on the A-honor roll. The cheese growing on trees thing is funny, but I believe that could happen. There are people who are so stupid, so, so stupid and it's worse in teens.

Welcome to growing up dear. Not an easy thing to do unfortunately. The hardest thing to do is to be yourself and not follow the crowd but it is the most rewarding. It defines who you will be later in life and I give you kudos for staying in the middle. My daughter is very beautiful and intelligent and my worse fear was her turning out to be some version of "mean girls". Well she isn't because of the values that I instilled in her. She accepts everyone for who they are regardless of how they look and I am thankful for that. What makes her different is her confidence to say no I am not going to be mean like everyone else just because I can. Unfortunately, beauty gives you privledges, why ,no one knows, but it seems to have it's own power. People whom you describe are only using the only power that they have -thier looks. There is no power in thier intelligence so they are compensating for it. When you get older the difference is clear, beauty will help you to get a job, intelligence will help you keep it.

Just think of the day when you go out to a nice 5 star restaurant to celebrate your big promotion and brand new Porsche, then one of your pretty old classmates will be your server. Just be kind and tip them well because they really have no other career options out there.

You're very mature for your age... You've figured out that 'belonging' is the coolest thing for a middle schooler.

Since you still have your head on your shoulders, keep it there and eventually, you'll end up with the good spouse if you want one.

It's because you're in Middle school... everything and everybody is fake. Believe me, in about 3 or 4 years most will grow up and focus on more important things like grades.
